About this talk

Being too risk averse in responding to climate change could be the one of worst mistakes we can make.

Describing herself as a pragmatic progressive, Miranda Taylor explains three important factors that are driving innovation and investment growth in renewable energies.

Cross-sector net zero carbon emissions targets are a powerful force for positive change. But we can all be influencers, as individuals and consumers.

Miranda urges us to make an action plan to reduce our own carbon footprint.

About the speaker

Miranda Taylor was Chief Executive of National Energy Resources Australia (NERA) from its inception in 2016 until its closure in June 2023. Her leadership of NERA brought together the country’s best minds from technology, research and enterprise, working towards Australia becoming a global energy powerhouse.

Miranda has extensive experience across the energy resources industries, working to improve productivity, optimise operational performance, lead HSE and risk management, and engage stakeholders. She has worked collaboratively with industry, regulators and state and federal governments and participated in several governmental taskforces.

Working on a kibbutz in the Golan Heights on the border of Israel and Syria inspired Miranda’s honours thesis in International Peacekeeping. She has a postgraduate degree in Australian labour relations.
