How well do you sleep?

In an age of electrical lighting, shift work, and 24-hour news cycles, many of us have sacrificed and compromised our sleep.

Yet, to perform at our best, Ian Dunican believes we must approach sleep as a serious matter. In this talk, Ian concentrates our minds on the need for sleep and shares some tips on how to sleep better - and therefore perform better.

Ian Dunican is a sleep researcher who helps business, industry and elite sports teams to achieve more through fatigue management and improved sleep. He is also an ultra-runner and has completed the Leadville 100 mile, a continuous off-road foot race in the Colorado Rockies where he ran for 27 hrs 42mins. He has completed numerous mountain ultra-runs in Australia and is a Brazilian jiu jitsu practitioner. Ian combines scientific research and operational leadership to work with industry and elite sports to manage fatigue and maximise productivity and performance. He has worked on projects all over the world including Mozambique, South Africa, Canada, USA, Australia and Mongolia. He also works with elite athletes in the Australian Institute of Sport, Western Force, Greater Western Sydney Giants and Perth Lynx.

Ian works in health, safety and business performance drawing on his background in the military, the resources sector, utilities, rail industries and with elite sporting organisations.

Ian has worked with major mining companies to develop fatigue risk management strategies and systems requiring the quantification, analysis and interpretation of multiple data streams to support health, safety, financial strength and productivity. Ian has led and guided projects all over the world including Mozambique, South Africa, Canada, USA, Australia and Mongolia.

Ian is working with Olympic and elite athletes with the Australian Institute of Sport and professional teams such as Western Force, Greater Western Sydney and the Perth Lynx.
