For thousands of years, the Whadjuk Nyoongar people have lived on the lands of Boorloo (Perth) and used yarning to pass history, culture and perspectives of the future between generations.

TEDxPerth acknowledges the Whadjuk Nyoongar people as the Custodians of these lands and waterways, and extends our respect to Elders past, present and emerging.

About this event

TEDxPerth 2023 was a celebration, held at a new venue, the PCEC. It also marked a return to our flagship event after a two-year hiatus due to COVID-19.

It was an exciting and jam-packed day, with an incredible line-up of local, national and international speakers. Our MC, Chris Taylor – best known as a member of The Chaser – kept the day rolling across three sessions, each with five inspirational speakers, plus exceptional performances.

Event Day Bingo saw attendees trying out chair yoga, contributing to a live artwork, quizzing an AI expert, spreading kindness, stepping into a newsroom, spinning the ‘wheel of wellness’, interviewing a stranger, and posing for a professional headshot.

Attendees shared a range of emotions across the day: excitement, appreciation, awe, joy, gratitude, and connection. In all, the event was a thought-provoking experience, with life-changing moments for many.

In the words of one attendee: ‘TEDxPerth provides a platform to share knowledge that sparks conversations, fostering positive change and a better tomorrow.’
