For thousands of years, the Whadjuk Nyoongar people have lived on the lands of Boorloo (Perth) and used yarning to pass history, culture and perspectives of the future between generations.

TEDxPerth acknowledges the Whadjuk Nyoongar people as the Custodians of these lands and waterways, and extends our respect to Elders past, present and emerging.

About the speaker 

Alex Jenkins is the Director of the WA Data Science Innovation Hub at Curtin University. Through this role, he and his team provide a range of services to support businesses, government and academia to build their knowledge of, and capability in, data science and artificial intelligence (AI).  

A University of WA graduate, Alex boasts over 15 years’ experience in advancing data science and AI solutions. He has collaborated with prominent organisations across the country to develop innovative big data implementations, supply chain modelling and data science strategies. 

Alex is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of STEM professionals and propelling Australia’s tech workforce forward.
