Venue & Accessibility

We're excited to be presenting TEDxYouth@Perth at the State Theatre Centre of WA.

Getting there

We’d love you to come by public transport if you can – we aim to reduce our carbon footprint wherever possible. The State Theatre Centre of WA is just a stone’s throw away from Perth Railway Station and Roe Street Bus Station, making public transport a great option for travelling to and from the theatre.

Train

Perth Train Station can be accessed from the Eastern Concourse, Wellington Street, and the Roe Street entrance to Platform 9. People with accessibility requirements are encouraged to use the Eastern Concourse that connects the Perth Cultural Centre with Forrest Chase, which is the current option as the William Street footbridge is not DDA compliant. For more information visit the Perth City Link website.

Bus

Transperth's Blue Cat buses travel from the Barrack St Jetty to Northbridge. The closest pick-up and drop-off points to the State Theatre Centre are Beaufort Street (Stop no. 7) and William Street (Stop no. 15). The Blue CAT operates every 15 minutes from 8.30am - 1.00am on Saturdays. For more information on routes, timetables and services contact Transperth's InfoLine on 13 62 13 or visit the Transperth website.

Car

Several secure car park facilities are located within a short walking distance from the State Theatre Centre, including the City of Perth State Library Car Park and the City of Perth Cultural Centre Car Park.

For attendees with mobility requirements

The State Theatre Centre of WA has lifts servicing the Main Foyer up to the Heath Ledger Theatre Foyer on level 2. There is a separate lift that can then take attendees up to upper stalls and circle with mobility restrictions, as per the guidelines below.

Attendees who experience difficulties with stairs should sit in Stalls Row E, Stalls Row O or Circle Row G. These rows include the designated positions for wheelchairs. All other rows require a step up or down. Tell us about your requirements when you book and we’ll get in touch with you.

Accessible toilets are available on the Main Foyer level (in the Courtyard), Heath Ledger Theatre foyer level (closest for Stalls Row E), as well as upper stalls (closest for Stalls Row O) and circle (closest for Circle Row G).

There are three City of Perth parking locations near the venue. They are:

  • State Library at 15 Francis Street, with 7 ACROD bays (24 hours)
  • The Cultural Centre at 2 Roe Street, with 4 ACROD bays (refer to operational hours of the car park)
  • Roe Street at 68 Roe Street, with 5 ACROD bays (refer to operational hours of the car park).
